* Sum 41's  new album "Chuck" will be in stores Oct. 12, 204!!!  Here is the press release:
On October 12, 2004, Island Records will release 'CHUCK,' the third release from multi-platinum act Sum 41.  Produced by Greg Nori and mixed by Andy Wallace and Tom Lord-Alge, 'CHUCK' packs the volatile punk punch the band is known for, while showcasing the band's growth musically and lyrically.
The story of 'CHUCK' comes from the band's trip to the Demoratic Republic of Congo in May to shoot a documentary (with the nonprofit group War Child Canada) about the impact of the longstanding civil war on the nation.  Although the band arrived during a time of cease-fire, while there they encountered bombs and gunfire.  The violence continued, and the band hid in a hotel bathroom for saftey. A U.N. represetative named Chuck Pelletier made and evacuation plan.  He herded the band into the lobby, then ran with them through gunfire to an armored tank and eventually to safety.  And that is the genesis of the title 'CHUCK.'
SUM 41 brings the intensity of their experiences in music and life to CHUCK, making it their most inventive and creative release thus far.  The first single "We're All To Blame" hightlights the band's frenetic energy surrounded by a melodic  harmony.  "No Reason" gives fans a dose of SUM's high-strung rock riffs, while "Pieces" showcases the band's evolving soft craft.
'CHUCK' follows the band's 2002 release 'Does This Look Infected?' and their 2001 full-length debut 'All Killer, No Filler.'  Since their debut, SUM 41 has toured across the world many times over and rocked all over radio.  The band has performed on television, not only performing SUM 41's hits "Fat Lip," "Still Waiting" and "Hell Song" but also appearing with various rock heroes such as Iggy Pop (Late Show with David Letterman), Tommy Lee (MTV Video Music Awards) and with Gene Simmons (as animated guests on King Of The Hill).

* Sum 41 has recorded a song called "Moron" for the Fat Wreckcords compilation "Rock Against Bush" which is out now.  Get all the scoop at fatwreck.com or amazon.com

* Sum 41 will be on the new Warped Tour DVD.

* This is what Deryck Whibley says about their new record: "It's out most everything record.  It's the heaviest we've ever done, but at the same time it's the lightest record we've ever done.  It's the perfect mix of our last two records:  It's really aggressive, like the last record, but I don't think we sacrificed any melody or anything catchy from the first record."  Some of the songs include: "Welcome to Hell," "Open Your Eyes," "88," and "Some Say."

* Sum 41 went to Congo in mid May to film a documentary on the war-torn African country.  They had to evacuate Congo on May 26, 2004 because war broke out.

* Sum 41 has their guitar book our now.  It's called "Best of Sum 41."  It's great I have it at home and it has the origional recorded versions on it so you can sound just like them.  If your not a guitar player you can also play it on the piano, or you can sing it.

* Sum 41 released their own DVD, "Introduction To Destruction (Video Treats To Move Yo Feets)."  It's over 2 hours long with live concert footage, music videos, including rare versions, commentary, exclusive footage shot by band, and much much more.  I have the DVD and it is great it has a lot of great inside info and performances.
